Job Summary:
  • Responsible in achieving the room and catering sales objectives of the hotel.
  • Assists the EAM - Sales & Marketing in the development of Sales & Marketing plan and in budget preparation.
  • Represents and promotes the hotel by maintaining constant contact with the market and the customer base locally and internationally through Customer Relationship Management.
  • Supervises the Sales & Marketing department to ensure all daily tasks are completed in a timely fashion.
  • To act as the deputy of EAM - Sales & Marketing in his/her absence.
  • Driving qualified Team Hot leads sent to achieve target set forth.
  • Driving SPG, SPP and Star Voice accounts enrollments
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Follow STAR Service Standards to provide service to the guests whenever and wherever encounter the guests in the hotel, own the problems and take initiative to follow up accordingly, regardless of positions and levels. For example, when an Engineering associate sees a guest seeking help on the floor, he/she cannot treat it as a task for HSKP associates only.  The Engineering associate must understand the guest’s problem or needs positively and find out the solution for the guest, and follow up accordingly.
  • Greet guests and fellow associates in the hotel all the times.
  • Always spend sufficient time in the lobby to communicate with the guests
  • Assists in the planning and development of marketing strategies and promotion plans.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of the Sales and Marketing plan.
  • Monitors and evaluates contemporary sales and marketing initiatives and trends.
  • Conducts market research.
  • Reports on the effectiveness of Sales and Marketing programs.
  • Assists in setting up systems to monitor achievement of departmental goals and objectives.
  • Manages & assists in strategic department planning and development.
  • Institutes suitable process to allow for efficient and effective utilization of departmental resources.
  • Assists in developing procedures for implementation and monitoring of reporting systems.
  • Ensures compliance with business operations laws.
  • Ensures compliance with hospitality operations laws.
  • Accesses and analyzes sales and marketing data.
  • Assists and supervises in the execution of sales and marketing plan.
  • Assists in the development of new products and services.
  • Assists and supervises the development of marketing strategies.
  • Promotes products and services.
  • Evaluates sales and marketing programs and strategies.
  • Manages staff performance and quality improvement.
  • Considers economic, political and social issues relevant to the department.
  • Considers tourism issues relevant to the hotel.
  • Manages department finances, purchasing and stock control.
  • Coordinates and manages work and daily operation within the department.
  • Manages industrial relations. Prevents and resolves grievances.
  • Staff Management. Facilitates multi-skills and give opportunities to take more responsibilities.
  • Manages guest services.
  • Manages the sales and promotions of products and services.
  • Maintains a safe and secure working environment.
  • Develops communication/administration systems and procedures.
  • Maintains and implements effective interpersonal skills.
  • Abides by the Hotel & Luxury Collection Employee Handbook.
  • Abides by both the hotel and Hotel & Luxury Collection policies and procedures.
  • Analyses, evaluates and improves personal performance on a continual basis.
  • Constant customer contact directed towards existing customers and potential customers.
  • Identifies and handles sales leads effectively and efficiently.
  • Represents the hotel and participates in domestic and international sales activities.
  • Setting realistic target for SPP, SPG, TEAMHOT, SC and IFH MICE mystery call for sales associates.
  • Setting realistic target for sales associates and carry out mid-year and year-end appraisal for subordinates.
  • Carries out other tasks as directed by HM.
Job Knowledge / Skill:
  • Leadership skills and knowledge of all tasks within the area of responsibility.
  • Knowledge and experience in Internet and other major computer programs.
  • Ability to use Sales and Front Office computer systems.
  • Knowledge in Corporate, Travel Industry, MICE and Catering sales.
  • Ability and understanding of the market and competition.
Additional Skill Required:
  • Excellent written and spoken Mandarin & English are a must.
  • Good computer skills with minimum requirement in use of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Internet and other popular software.
  • Good interpersonal & communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure

University
 
Experience:
Minimum 5 years work experience in International hotels.  Basic knowledge of each department operations. Pre-opening experience is a plus.
